Introduction

Hospital Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) Welfare Fund was established in August 2024 as an initiative to support needy and deserving patients.

Purpose

As a not-for-profit hospital, Hospital UTAR is dedicated to serving the healthcare needs of our community. The Welfare Fund extends assistance to those struggling to access medical treatment and recovery, particularly within the B40 category. We provide welfare funds for medical and surgery treatments, including Traditional and Complementary Medicine (TCCM).

Achievements

In a short period, the Welfare Fund has provided crucial support to numerous patients, including those undergoing dialysis, requiring surgery, ICU care, physiotherapy, and Traditional and Complementary Medicine (TCCM) treatments.

Notably, the fund has enabled several patients in TCCM rehabilitation to undergo necessary treatments, resulting in significant recovery and improved quality of life.

The Procedure

The Welfare Fund application is a thoughtful process designed to ensure that support reaches those who need it most.

Application Submission: Patients or their families begin by submitting application forms, accompanied by necessary documents.

Initial Review: Our welfare investigation officers carefully assess the applications to verify eligibility.

Interviews and Home Visits: To gain a complete understanding of the applicant’s/patient’s situation, we conduct interviews and house visits.

Approval and Assistance: The Welfare Fund Committee carefully evaluates each case and decides on the usage of the funds. Once approved, the funds are disbursed promptly, bringing relief and hope to patients and their families.
